Skin and eye damage are incremental, and anglers now in midsummer, if they're not careful, can experience both. On the water, an effective sunscreen is as valuable as live bait. Covering up is a good idea, too, starting with a hat and collared shirt. No less important: quality sunglasses. Peering into and onto water all day, with the hot sun reflecting, will take a toll over time. Costa and other makers of quality sunglasses charge a premium for a reason: Their products protect eyes.
