CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chip Ganassi and Harry Scott Jr. have teamed up to field one car in NASCAR's Xfinity Series next season.
The entry will be run by Chip Ganassi Racing and will race under the name HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi.
The No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro will be shared by Kyle Larson, the reigning Sprint Cup Series rookie of the year, and Dylan Kwasniewski, who just finished his first season in NASCAR's second-tier series.
Mike Shiplett will crew chief. Shiplett has been a crew chief and a car chief at Richard Petty Motorsports, Turner Scott Motorsports and Gillett Evernham Motorsports.
Ganassi fielded Xfinity cars from 2004 through 2008 and won six races. Scott was previously a partner in Turner Scott Motorsports.
"We have had a great relationship with Harry over the past couple of years and bringing this program into our shop is something that we feel benefits both teams," Ganassi said. "We feel that our expertise on both the competition and the business side can help grow the program both on and off the track."
Scott, who fields one Sprint Cup Series car, also announced Thursday he has partnered with Justin Marks to form a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East team.
HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks will field four teams, one for returning driver Scott Heckert, and three for rookie of the year contenders William Byron, J.J. Haley and Dalton Sargeant.
"The future of NASCAR is being developed in the NASCAR K&N Series," said Scott. "My partnership with Justin Marks to field four teams in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East is an opportunity for us to help young drivers get to the next level."
Marks, who has competed in multiple levels of road course racing, partnered with Larson this season to form a World of Outlaws entry under the Larson Marks Racing banner.
