Churning Pistons await Wolves

Wolves update: Minnesota is going to have to reverse a lot of trends if it is going to win against the Pistons. The Wolves have lost their last seven games overall to Detroit, including a 129-123 overtime defeat earlier this season at Target Center. The Wolves led by 14 points entering the fourth quarter before the Pistons rallied for the win. The Wolves are also just 9-24 on the road this season, including 0-7 in road games on no rest — which this game will be, since the Wolves played Tuesday against Oklahoma City. ... Derrick Rose scored 33 points in the loss to the Pistons at Target Center, while Robert Covington had 22. Covington has missed the past 27 games because of a bone bruise on his right knee.

Pistons update: Detroit is on a roll, having gone 9-2 in its past 11 games — including an overtime win over the Raptors on Sunday. The Pistons are tied for the No. 6 spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. ... Reggie Bullock, who torched the Wolves for 33 points in their earlier meeting this season, was traded to the Lakers last month for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and a second-round pick. But Blake Griffin, who had 34 points in that game, has been on a roll. During Detroit's 9-2 stretch, he's averaging 22.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists. ... Ex-Timberwolf G Wayne Ellington is 14-for-28 (50 percent) from three-point range his past four games.
