Loons face lagging L.A.

Preview: Minnesota United (10-16-6, ninth in the West) and L.A. (7-17-8, 11th in the West) are both out of playoff contention. The Loons, though, have managed 14 points in their past eight matches while L.A. has won only once in the past three months.

Quotable: "Nobody probably expected we'd be playing L.A. Galaxy the second-to-last game of the season, and we'd be sitting [seven] points ahead of them in the table. Now, it's been a disappointing season by their own standards. Nobody would have envisioned them being where they are with the group of players that they have. … It's certainly been rare that that's happened, certainly with this team and this club. As I've said before, they've probably been the standard-bearers of this league for the last 10 years." – United coach Adrian Heath on L.A.

Numbers: Both teams rank at the bottom of MLS in most goals allowed this season with United at 64 and L.A. at 62. The league record is 69.

Absences: D Robbie Rogers (ankle), M Sebastian Lletget (foot), M Baggio Husidic (leg), D Pele van Anholt (knee) and D Daniel Steres (back) are out for L.A. while D Bradley Diallo (hamstring) is questionable. M Bernardo Anor (leg), D Thomas de Villardi (Achilles), M Sam Cronin (concussion) and D Joe Greenspan (suspension) are out for the Loons.
