A Duluth dentist was reprimanded and conditions were placed on his license after he pleaded guilty in December to evasion of federal taxes, according to an order recently made public by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Michael J. Bussa admitted that for the tax years of 2003, 2004 and 2005 he failed to pay $76,695 in federal income taxes. He hid some of his business income in a personal bank account, according to the board. To avoid additional disciplinary action, Bussa must pay a $5,000 fine and complete 25 hours of community service at a dental-access clinic. On Monday, Bussa was sentenced to four years of probation and was ordered to pay a $30,000 fine for the felony.
