Sunday Lyupa, the great-great-grandfather of Snuffleupagus, is brought back to life in "Waking the Baby Mammoth" (8 p.m., National Geographic), a documentary based on the remarkable remains found two years ago in Siberia. Animation and the smooth voice of Victor Garber guide us back 40,000 years ago, when the entire frozen tundra had only one Starbucks coffee shop.

Monday If you think "Trail of Tears" is a sequel to a Smokey Robinson hit, you are required to watch the latest installment of "We Shall Remain: American Experience" (8 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), which chronicles the 1838 relocation of Cherokees that led to the death of 4,000 American Indians. Wes Studi, a Cherokee native, plays the role of Maj. Ridge.

Tuesday Lindsay Lohan is threatening to strip in Vegas, and Mandy Moore married bad-boy rocker Ryan Adams, so it's only proper that Hilary Duff take her turn in shedding her goody-goody image. The former Disney Channel staple plays the prime suspect in the disappearance of a child on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (9 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11). At this rate, Miley Cyrus will probably be James Bond's next nemesis.

Wednesday Our crush on "Better Off Ted" (7:30 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) is about to be tested. The very funny, woefully underwatched sitcom ends its limited run with little hope of returning. Let's hope ABC ignores the numbers and gives this promising workplace comedy another chance in the near future. Portia de Rossi, a standout in tonight's episode, reminds us once and for all that she's a lot more than Ellen DeGeneres' dance partner.

Thursday If you've been rooting for filmmaker Mike White and his father on "The Amazing Race," you may change your allegiance after watching his work in 2000's "Chuck & Buck" (9 p.m., FLIX), an independent sleeper about a boyhood crush that doesn't evaporate. White, who wrote the script, co-stars with producer Chris Weitz. Apparently, no full-time actors would touch something this creepy.
