A $5.99 "agent-assisted fee" recently billed to Comcast customers who pay in person at the company's 11 metro Xfinity Experience Centers has been credited back to accounts, according to spokesperson Mary Beth Schubert. "It was an error," Schmidt said, likening it to a computer glitch. "We identified this right away and immediately on August 28 applied credit to all affected customers." Maureen Delong of Minneapolis has been paying her bill in person for years at the Inver Grove Heights center, so when her August bill showed the fee for July's payment, she called customer service. "If they help you, they charge $5.99," Delong said she was told. Another rep told her that it had happened to many people and that Comcast is changing its policy, she said.
