Women

Jess Herauf, junior, Dickinson, N.D.: heptathlon (Wednesday-Thursday): Qualified by scoring 6,014 points to win the Big Ten championship.

Nicolle Murphy, sophomore, Arkansas City, Kan.: javelin (Thursday): Qualified with a season-best throw of 170 feet, 1 inch at NCAA west prelim.

Devin Stanford, senior, Milwaukee: hammer (Thursday): Qualified with a throw of 202- 10 at the NCAA west prelim, tying her own Gophers record.

Jessica Waldvogel, senior, Wausau, Wis.; Emerald Egwim, freshman, Eagan; Erin Hawkins, sophomore, Des Moines, Iowa; Titania Markland, sophomore, Annotto Bay, Jamaica: 4x400-meter relay (semifinal Thursday, final Saturday): Qualified with a program-record time of 3:32.68 at the NCAA west prelim.

Men

Goaner Deng, junior, Apple Valley: 800 meters (semifinals Wednesday; finals Friday). Qualified with a personal-best time of 1:48.64 at the NCAA west prelim.

Gian Ferretti, junior, Cascina, Italy: hammer (Wednesday). Qualified with a throw of 214-6½ at the NCAA west prelim after setting a school record of 228-6½ at the Big Ten outdoor championships.

Luke Johnson, junior, Red Wing: shot put (Wednesday). Qualified with personal-best throw of 61- 4 at the NCAA west prelim.

Luca Wieland, sophomore, Saarbrucken, Germany: decathlon (Wednesday-Thursday). Qualified by winning the Big Ten championship with 7,635 points, a personal best.
