The Pourhouse

Sure, there's another "speakeasy" party bar blocks away (Bootleggers), but the Pourhouse is hoping to go gangbusters with the theme (see the secret-passage bar). What the former Spin space lacks in natural light, the new tenants are making up for in TVs, boasting flat-screens galore and one monstrous 300-inch projection screen. Drop in on its daily 3-7 p.m. happy hour for $3 domestics, $4 calls and $5 apps, with a free Friday buffet from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Cowboy Jack's

The After Midnight Group has been doing its cowboy thang in the burbs and Uptown for a while, but last week its newest honky tonk infiltrated the heart of the city. Saddle up with $2 domestics, rails, calls and half-priced select apps during a daily 3-6 p.m. happy hour. We smell a hit with Warehouse District-venturing suburbanites, but even city dwellers will have a hard time hating on the rooftop patio.

Devil's Advocate

Butcher & the Boar isn't the only restaurant doing meat-chic cuisine downtown. Devil's Advocate dares to be different, though, offering carnivorous comestibles exclusively in ball form. Stop in this sophisticated dude's lair for $3 select taps, wines and discounted grub from 4-7 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight daily, and all day Sunday.
