The coming week, in which a number of key issues will be decided, may well be looked upon in the future as the point at which President Obama's bid for a second term was made or broken.

• The Supreme Court will rule not only on the constitutionality of Obama's health care law but also on Arizona's stringent immigration law.

• Congress will be forced into action (or inaction) on highway funding and on keeping federal student-loan rates low.

• The full House is expected to vote on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. in contempt of Congress over his refusal to turn over documents related to the "Fast and Furious" gun-tracking operation. Obama has asserted executive privilege in the case.
