Fergle, Richard R. Age 87, of Spring Park, MN, passed away on August 23, 2015 after a courageous battle with chronic kidney disease. Richard was born April 12, 1928 in Chicago where he grew up and graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School. He developed a love of Colorado where he attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and served in the Army.Richard married Barbara J. Bak and moved to Richardson, Texas in 1967, where his daughter, Stephanie, was born. The family moved to Dawson, MN and finally settled in Moorhead, MN in 1981, where Richard worked for American Crystal Sugar Company until his retirement. He relocated to Spring Park in 2008 where he enjoyed living at Lake Minnetonka Shores, his "resort". A chemical engineer with three patents, Richard's passions in life were model railroading and watching trains, "persevering" at his computers, "flight simulating" and observing aircraft, crying over the Cubs and cheering on the Twins, and being "Choo-Choo Grandpa" to his grandchildren, the lights in his life. Richard was preceded in death by his parents (James and Josephine) and wife (Barbara). He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Bryan) Helland; grandchildren, Jaxon and Rose Helland; brothers, James (Elaine) Fergle and Donald (Evelyn) Fergle; sister-in-law Rosalie (David) Martin and many nephews and nieces.
