Ralph L. Hadlund, M.D.

Hadlund, Ralph L. M.D. of Bloomington, MN, formerly Waterloo, IA, passed away peacefully on August 25. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol and children, Hugh (Ruth) Hadlund and Suzanne (Bruce) Landsverk; grandchildren, Joseph (Kate) Landsverk, Jonathan (Courtney) Landsverk, and Lauren Hadlund; great grandchildren, Hannah, Jack, and Maximus. Raised in Council Bluffs, IA. Graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947. Completed Creighton University Pre-Med School in 1950. Graduated from University of Iowa College of Medicine, married Carol D Brouse, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954. During 8 years of service, completed an Ophthalmology residency. In 1961, set up private ophthalmology practice in Waterloo, IA. After 27 gratifying years, retired in 1988. During retirement, split his time between Waterloo,IA and Stone Lake, WI. Throughout his lifetime he was actively involved with Westminster Presbyterian Church of Waterloo and First Luthern of Stone Lake. His special interest were Ham Radio (W0RZ), flying his Cessna airplane, traveling, music, woodworking/ carving, building/flying remote controlled airplanes, and Rotary. Memorial Service Saturday 2PM August 29 Friendship Village 8100 Highwood Dr. Bloomington, MN. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Employee Appreciation Fund of Friendship Village, Christ Presbyterian Church Edina, MN and First Luthern Church of Stone Lake, WI.
