Grube, David W. M.D. whose main identity was a sinner, forgiven by the grace of Jesus; died on August 26, 2015 of complications from pneumonia. Born 5/1/39, David grew up in Waverly, Iowa, and got his bachelor's degree from Wartburg College. In June, 1965 he graduated from University of Iowa College of Medicine and married Nanette Randolph. He served 2 years in the US Army and then began his 31 year career as a member of Southdale Family Practice. David loved the close relationship that a doctor can develop with his patients, and he was never reluctant to give them a hug. David was active as church and community volunteer. He enjoyed camping, especially with the grandchildren, biking, traveling and reading. Despite losing his ability to speak in recent years he remained active with the aid of a speaking device. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Nanette. Also by children Eric (Patti), Kurt (Stephanie), and Maria (Paul) Flandermeyer, and 9 grandchildren. Visitation Friday, August 28th from 4-7pm at Gill Brothers, 58th Lyndale Ave So. Memorial service, Saturday, August 29, 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave. S. Visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Foundation, Luther Seminary, Holistic Ministry for the Children of the Horn of Africa or Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry.
