Elert, Kathryn Ann Passed away after a yearlong battle with breast cancer and heart failure on August 1, 2015 at age 65. Survived by her husband Steve; sons, Bret (Sarah) and Scot (Kate); grandchildren, Makenna, Kylie, and Karson; sister, Lynn (Jim) Hermes; brother, Gary (Jane) Getty. Preceded in death by her father Glen Getty in 2013 and her mother Kaye in 2014. Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as the Assistant to the Superintendent of schools in both the Osseo and Centennial school systems, retiring in 2007. In that year, she began devoting much of her time care giving to her parents Glen and Kaye until their deaths. She enjoyed golfing and had many hobbies. She loved her family deeply and taught them kindness, gentleness, forgiveness and most of all, love. She is missed by many. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Friday 8/7/15 at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. NW. Coon Rapids) Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday 8/6/15 and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday, both at the funeral home. Interment in Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
