Carlson, Marlys J. Age 87 of Eden Prairie, MN passed away after a couragous battle with cancer on July 29. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt & friend. Her homemade cookies & coffee welcomed visitors in her tidy home. Marlys grew up in Aldrich, MN, graduating from Verndale High School before moving to Mpls to attend Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. Graduating in 1950, she worked as an RN at Methodist Hospital & Chapel View Nursing Home. She proudly had her cap starched & shoes polished. She cherished her nursing profession & her nurse friends and was active with the Swedish Hospital Nursing Alumnae Assoc attending this very last reunion facing her own health issues. Marlys is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Victor; daughter Brenda & husband Mark Morley; daughter Roxane Buranen & partner Alan Hunter; grandsons Derek & Luke Buranen; sister Mya Doll; brother Ronald Doll; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, & friends. Her humble beginnings made her grateful for the smallest of gifts or good will. We will miss her. Bye "Grandma Cookie".
