Kevin Messer

Messer, Kevin age 16 of Plymouth died tragically on July 3, 2015. Blessed to have had Kevin in their lives are his parents, John and Kimmarie; brother, Alex; grandparents, Jim Lovsted and Ginger Werner; beloved cat, Vinny; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and many others who loved him. Preceded in death by grandparents Darrel Messer and Ruth Lovsted. Kevin's short time on earth had a profound and positive affect on every person who met him. He was a kind, gentle, happy young man who always had a smile on his face. Even as a baby, he was so sweet and easy. Kevin never had an unkind word to say about anyone. In school, he was the person who befriended someone who was alone, or would ask them to join him at the lunch table. As a student at Armstrong High school, Kevin was well known and had many friends. Even students who did not know him well said that they knew of him from others, and they heard that he was one of the nicest kids in the entire school. Kevin was an excellent student who enjoyed school and put his best effort into every class and subject. He was passionate about sports, and was a gifted athlete who played basketball, football and baseball for school, club and community teams. His coaches praised him for his talent and skill, but more importantly for his leadership and maturity both on and off the field, and the positive example he set for others. Kevin had very special and close relationship with his older brother, Alex, and they loved spending time together. He also had lots of other "Big Brothers" who were so important to him. John, Kimmarie and Alex want to thank Kevin's "second family", the Wibbens', for all of the love that they have given to Kevin. Also special thanks to all of Kevin's coaches, teachers and all of his amazing friends. You all made his life on earth so happy and meaningful. Always keep Kevin in your heart. Memorials preferred to the Kevin Messer Memorial Fund. Portions of this fund are being set aside to establish a charity in Kevin's name for young men and women who might need help in purchasing shoes and other sports equipment - something so dear to his heart.
