Hartmann, John 'Jack' J. age 89 passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 due to natural causes. John was born to Herman and Annabelle in Mpls, MN. John shared his life with his loving wife Helen who passed away in 1984 after 36 years of marriage; 4 children, sons, Michael of Mpls, Bruce (Patricia) of Maple Grove, Gary (Dani) of Maple Grove and daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Wistrom of Big Lake. Also survived by grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, Danielle, Brian, Tyler, Tessa, Angie, Melissa and Brandon; and 7 great-grandchildren. John was raised in Mpls and joined the US Army Air Corps during WWII where he served as a Tail Gunner on a B-29 bomber. John worked most of his career in the material handling industry, initially as a mechanic followed by various manager positions. John was extremely talented in his ability to build and fix anything. He enjoyed camping with his family, spending time with his grandkids, and was always busy working on projects. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, July 10, 10 AM with visitation 1 hour before at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson St NE, Columbia Heights.
