Marx, Dorothy Evangeline Long time Minnetonka resident, died July 1, 2015 at age 88. Dorothy was born 9/21/1926 to Frieda Imig and Lewis Marx in Herndon, Kansas. A graduate of Doane College in Crete, NE, she earned her MA at the U of NE in Lincoln, where she also worked for the NE Child Welfare Department. In Minneapolis Dorothy was employed by Lutheran Social Services, Minneapolis' Family and Children's Services, and St. Louis Park School System as a Social Worker at the high school and later at Cedar Manor, Aquila, and Peter Hobart grade schools. Dorothy enriched her retirement after 1984 by negotiating volunteer activities for winters: house sitting in Las Cruces, New Mexico; working with Habitat for Humanity in Americus, GA; the Cook School in Tempe, AZ; and finally Children's Haven in Pharr, TX. She also enjoyed travel abroad-seeing England, Holland, and France, and especially visiting relatives in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Melvin, of Grand Island, NE. Survivors include her brother, Don, of Lincoln; her sister, Edna Mae Hughes, of St. Paul; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
