Debra Ann Sit

Sit, Debra Ann August 29, 1960 - June 29, 2015 Debra "Debbie" A. Sit, 54, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a Senior Vice President and officer with Sit Investment Associates, a Minnea-polis-based investment firm her father, the late Eugene C. Sit, founded in 1981. Debbie joined the firm in its first year and served in many roles, including senior portfolio manager of various fixed income products and accounts. Debbie served on the Board of Directors of Sit Investment Associates. Debbie held an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from the University of Minnesota. She held the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. In 1995, the Twin Cities Business Journal named her to its "40 under 40" list of the top forty business achievers under the age of 40. Debbie was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Many knew her as a dynamic investment professional who was active in various community and philanthropic enterprises. Debbie was an avid traveler and loved the arts. Everyone appreciated her warmth, intelligence and humor. She enjoyed close ties to family and friends. Debbie was active in various community organizations in the area over her lifetime. She served on the boards of the University of Minnesota Foundation, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, VocalEssence and Common Bond Communities. Debbie was a longtime member and participant in the Rotary Club of Minneapolis and the Junior League of Minneapolis. Debbie was a past president and active alumnus of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Debbie is survived by her husband Peter Berge; her mother Gail Sit; brothers Ronald (Teresa), Roger (Michele), Raymond (Tania), Robert (Gayle), and Richard (Andrea); many nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Eugene C. Sit. Visitation 4-7pm Monday, July 6th at Christ Presbyterian Church, West 70th St. and Hwy 100, Edina. Funeral Service 10:30am Tuesday, July 7th also at Christ Presbyterian Church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
