Morris-Grothe, Gloria E. Age 89, of St. Paul. Died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on May 27, 2015. Born Oct. 21, 1925 in Cokato, MN. Lived in So. Minneapolis, New Hope, and St. Paul. She had a long and varied career in music as a singer in a vocal trio, piano teacher, vocal soloist at multiple churches, and director of several community vocal groups. She was a lecturer/performer in Swedish lyric songs, and gave vocal lessons from her home studio. Preceded in death by parents, Ida and Elmer Morris, brother Howard Morris of Cokato, and former husband Howard Grothe. Survived by daughters, Cindy (David) Smith of Hayward, WI, and Mary Schmidt of Jordan, MN; son, Jon (Dixie) Grothe of Tonka Bay, MN; and grandchildren, Travis Schmidt of Belle Plaine MN and Sierra Schmidt of St. Paul. Memorial service on Monday, June 1, 11 am at the Coventry Chapel at Episcopal Church Homes, 1840 University Ave W, St. Paul, MN.
