Anderson, Scott Peter Age 58, lifelong resident of Richfield, died of brain cancer on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the N. C. Little Hospice, Edina. Scott was born on March 16, 1957, in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Anderson, and is survived by his mother, Lucille U. Anderson; Lee Hennig; his brother and best friend Jon; his sisters Linda and Deborah (Dianna Hunter); and many other friends and relatives. Scott worked for more than 25 years at Dayton's, finishing there as a warehouse supervisor and ultimately moving to a job at M. Amundson Cigar & Candy Co. for the last eight years. Scott was known for his quick wit and his enjoyment of life. He enjoyed nature and biking (often combining these interests on long bike trips with his brother). He enjoyed traveling-especially to Mexico - with Lee. He enjoyed playing poker and pool, taking long walks with a succession of dogs, reading (especially history), watching (and wagering on) sports, and cooking and eating good food. He was also known to enjoy the occasional beer. Knowing that he was dying, Scott faced the end with incredible courage and gratitude, insisting to family and friends that even though his life was being cut shorter than many that he had done what he wanted and enjoyed his life, and that while others might feel that he had been shortchanged, he felt that he had been a lucky man. His family and friends will give thanks for his life from 4 to 7 p.m.Thursday, May 28, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue S., Edina. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Audubon Society, the Humane Society, or the Sierra Club.
