Mellesmoen, Esther Catherine Age 95, formerly of Duluth, MN, passed away April 30, 2015 at MN Masonic Home in Bloomington, MN. Born December 23, 1919 to Anna and Carl Olson. Preceded in death by Glenn Mellesmoen, husband of 66 years, infant son Dwayne, siblings Henry, Walter, Victoria and Howard. Survived by children Donald (Roseanne), Gerald (Cynthia), Greg, Mark (Shairoz) and Beverly Ransford (Michael); grandchildren Alesha Murphy, Michael Mellesmoen, Tiffany Quade, Luke and Nicholas Mellesmoen, Rolf Mellesmoen, Marta Lawes, Aaron, Jasmin, Shayna, Hannah and Nameera Mellesmoen and Alison Ransford; great-grandchildren Hailey, Fiona, Aeowyn, Avienda and Parker. Esther was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Duluth Heights Birthday and Sewing Clubs. She enjoyed gardening and maintaining a welcoming and beautiful home. She was passionate about baking, knitting, crocheting and canning. She specialized in creating and decorating doll cakes, and loved baking large assortments of cookies and treats for the holidays. Esther was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved driving in her car around the Duluth Heights and shopping at her favorite stores Target, Walgreen's and K-Mart. Special thanks to caregivers Luda K, Luda M, King D, Jane K, Yongor K, MN Masonic employees Madu and Laurie. Esther will be missed by all and remembered by many. Service to be held on Friday, May 8, at 11 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 N Arlington Ave, Duluth, MN. Visitation 1-hour prior. Interment immediately following at Sunrise Memorial Park, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, MN.
