Mary (Roozen) Goracke

Goracke, Mary (Roozen) Age 92, passed away from complications of Alzheimer's disease in Sauk Rapids, MN on April 14, 2015. Mary was born in Valier, Montana, to Garrett and Catherine Roozen on May 9, 1922. She had 9 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Leo Goracke and they raised their 5 children together on their farm in Big Lake Twp, MN. A long time employee of Federal Cartridge, she kept busy after retirement volunteering at Guardian Angels in Elk River and Our Lady of the Lake Church in Big Lake, as well as spending time with her family and numerous friends. She loved to crochet and anybody gifted one of her scrubbies would wonder how they'd ever washed dishes without it. A thoughtful, generous, loving, and independent person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of being a part of her life. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; 7 brothers; 2 sisters; and husband, Leo. She is survived by her brothers, Joe and Tony; children, Ken (Maria), Charles (Debra), Donnie (Lori), Jodie Hipsag (James), and Debbie Ekstrom (Dan); 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tues., May 5, 2015, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, 440 Lake St N, Big Lake, MN with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM.
