Barnier, Faira Forsyth 88, of Brooklyn Park, formerly Plymouth and Anoka. Died peacefully April 16 after a brief illness. Born in Chicago, IL on February 5, 1927 to Walter and Merne (Parks) Forsyth. Faira grew up in IL, IA and MN, graduated from Anoka High School in 1944, and married Leon Barnier in 1947. Together they raised 8 children. Faira was known for her friendly smile and her gift for making people feel welcomed and included. In their later years, Faira and Leon enjoyed many happy winters with friends and family in Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by Leon, her husband of 66 years; parents; brother, Richard; and son-in-law Ken Lipetzky. Survived by children Christopher (Claudia) Barnier, Gregory (Janelle) Barnier, Yvonne (Jim) Shuda, Daniel (Linda) Barnier, Mary (Steve) Plaisance, Mickey (Terry) Lovaas, Annette Barnier (Mark Peterson), and Renee Wilson; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends in Anoka, Plymouth, and at St. Therese in Brooklyn Park. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Rd. 24, Medina. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Anoka.
