Lois L. Miller

Miller, Lois L. Formerly of Bloomington, MN, died age 88 in Windom, MN, where she had lived for several years. She was preceded in death by son Gregg, sister Gladys Isaacson, parents May and Day Linn, and former husband Dawes Miller. She is survived by her children David Miller (Leslie), James Miller (Mary) and Catherine Behrend (Andrew); grandchildren Matthew Miller (Brianne), Sonja Miller (Andrew Brynjulson), and Anna and Joseph Behrend; great-grandchildren Graham and Milo Miller; brother-in-law Darrold Isaacson; former sister-in-law Rachel Schrader; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lois was born in Miller, South Dakota. She graduated from Brookings High School in 1944 and South Dakota State University in 1948. She taught Home Economics in the Minneapolis schools and later worked in Special Education in the Bloomington school system. Lois was an active volunteer in the Bloomington community for many years, offering her leadership and involvement in the Great Books Program, The League of Women Voters, and as a reading tutor. She was a devoted mother. She will be remembered for many things, among them her love of beauty and nature; reading, learning and language; but above all her love of family. Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at LaCanne Family Funeral Service, 2280 Sixth Avenue, Windom, MN. Informal visitation prior to and following service. Private Interment at a later date.
