Cundy, Barbara Jean (nee Fraiken) Mar. 19, 1925 Mar. 19, 2015 Age 90, of Edina. Preceded in death by parents, Laton and Madge Fraiken; and husband, Thomas William ("Bill") Cundy. Survived by children, Deborah A. Cundy (Susan Denk) and Terrance W. Cundy (Lucia Cundy); beloved grandchildren, Robert and Nicholas Cundy and family of the heart Valerie Aldrich, Bobbi Hoppe, Nicole, Kathrine, Ruby Kate Nolen and the many Denks, Mazers, Meads and Powers who gave her such joy. Graduate of Southwest High School and the auburn-haired beauty in a bathing suit on the 1940's Gamble-Skogmo Aquatennial float. Retired as a personal banker from First Bank Edina (US Bank). A volunteer at Methodist Hospital, League of Women Voters and many other causes as well as "room mother extraordinaire." (Ours was the house where all the kids wanted to be after school.) Her bridge and bowling friends of old and new so enriched her life. She cherished children, treasured the elderly, spoiled pets and opened her arms to all. Deeply wise, gloriously playful, Mom will remain forever young. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the doctor, nurses, aides and staff of Augustana Chapel View for their loving care of our mother. Burial has occurred. Memorials may be directed to charities that protect children or animals.
