Perry, Maizie Ahrens 102, of Hot Springs Village AR and long time resident of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully in Winchester VA on Feb. 4, 2015. Preceded in death by husband Lowell Perry. Survived by children Janet and David, g.daughter Jelena Lagger and gg.daughter Aurora. Maizie was born in Winona and grew up in MacIntosh SD. She studied piano from an early age, but her dream was to become a singer. After graduating from Yankton SD she came to Minneapolis as a school teacher and to continue operatic vocal studies. She was heard in recitals, as soloist in St.Luke's where she met her husband Lowell, in Gethsemane church choir, and was active in Tuesday Music Club. Both children became professional musicians, Janet an international opera singer and David a classical guitarist. In retirement the Perry's moved to Hot Springs Village Arkansas where Maizie stayed well into her 90's before going to live with her son in Virginia. She still played piano at her 100th birthday party, was alert and witty. Funeral and memorial service Apr. 9, 11 AM, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Hot Springs Village, AR.
