Johnsen, Arthur Louis "Art" "Artie" age 70, of Deephaven, died of Melanoma on 3/21/15 at 7:38 PM. "Artie" or "Art" was a resident of Deep-haven, MN and lived in the family home for 70+ years. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Georgia Johnsen. Survived by loving wife of 15+ years, Carol; brother, Ronald; nieces, Christina (Roger), Cloe, Dylan; nephews, Ronald (Karen), Ian, Eric; step-sons, Tom (Shannon) Nelson, Kevin Forss; step grandchilden, Alissa, Blake (Courtenay); and great-grand-daughter, Everly Mae. Art served as a Captain in the US Army in Vietnam. Past Master Counselor of Order of De Molay, Past Master of Excelsior Lodge #113 A.F. and A.M. Past Worthy Patron of Excelsior Chapter #20, Order of Eastern Star. Graduate of Minnetonka High School, Graduate of University of MN with a B.S. in Business. Member of Delta Sigma Fraternity. Art was an owner of Johnsen-Bornes Realty and was a realtor and broker for 43 years. He was a lifetime member of Exelsior United Methodist Church. Art enjoyed swimming, boating and ice skating on Lake Minnetonka, skiing, ballroom and square dancing (where he met his wife Carol), working on his yard and gardens with his wife and traveling in the US and Mexico. He also loved cats. He will be remembered and missed by many lifetime school friends, friends from the real estate business, and friends from his neighborhood and church. Visitation Thursday, April 9 frm 4-7 PM at Excelsior United Methodist Church, 881 Third Ave., Excelsior, MN 55331 (952-474-5471), with services led by Eastern Star and Excelsior Masonic Lodge at 6 PM. Memorial service wil be held 11 AM Friday, April 10, 2015 also at the church, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Groveland Cemetery, Deephaven.
