Daniel D. McKilligan

McKilligan, Daniel D. Age 60, of St. Paul. Born 9/2/54 and went on his final solo journey 2/27/15. He leaves behind him the burden of cancer and takes with him the love of his family and friends. He will join his father, Doug, and his sister, Sue, with their fishing poles at the lake. He is missed dearly by his wife, Mary McKinley; mother, Ruth McKilligan; sisters Sandy (Reed) LeCheminant and Sharon (Glenn) Dunham; nieces and nephews Doug (Carly) Yoder, Marina (Evan) Yoder, Joe (Laura) Anton, Amanda and Keaton Dunham, and David (Brittani) Dunham. Very special to him were his sister- and brother-in-law, Julie and Bruce Yoder, who helped with his care and gave him a safe and comfortable place to die. Ambrose and Max, his cats, also miss his warm side of the bed. His memorial service will be at the Fort Snelling Officers club on April 17, 2015 at noon. All are welcome to come and share memories of him. Very special thanks to Pat and Becky, his therapists, Rick, his nurse, and the rest of the Fairview Hospice system. If desired, memorials may be made to the Minnesota Scottish Fair and Highland Games or Fairview Home Hospice. He has gone first to blaze the trail and find the best camp sites. As he says, "Look for me in nature, that's where I'll be."
