Smith, Leo P. age 94, of Andover, formerly of Fridley. Leo was born on Feb. 7, 1921 in Webster, SD, the son of Elmer & Nellie (Karrigan) Smith. He graduated from Webster High School and was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps for 3 1/2 years stationed in the South Pacific. He was united in marriage to Lois Elaine Larson on June 28, 1947 in Watertown, SD. He retired in 1983 after 30 years with Montgomery Ward. After retiring from Montgomery Ward, he worked for 10 years at Kuppen-heimer's in New Hope. Leo was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #363 in Fridley, the Andover Seniors and Cedar United Methodist Church in Ham Lake. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lois; his parents, Elmer & Nellie; brother, Kenneth and sisters, Catherine and LaVerda. Among survivors grateful for having shared in his life are his daughters, Shelly (Bob) Huber and Sherry (Mike) Shelton; grandsons, Anthony and Tyler Huber and David Saterbak; great-grandson, Forrest Huber; brother, Jim Smith; sisters, Lorraine (Paul) Wagner and Arlene Audus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial service Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 AM at Cedar United Methodist Church, 17541 Jefferson St. NE, Ham Lake. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Mpls.
