Langford, D. Richard "Dick" Age 82, of Long Lake, died peacefully at home on February 25, 2015. Predeceased by parents, Dale and Julia Langford, and sister Judith. Survived by daughters Julie (Bruce) Leppink and Amy Langford; grandchildren Eric, Grace and Laura Leppink, and Mitchell, Reed, and Brent Jacobs; brother Robert (Annette) Langford; sister Linda (Skip) Hewitt; and brother Bruce (Becky) Langford. Dick graduated from Bismarck High School and the University of Minnesota. He was a member of Alpha Delta Phi and maintained lifelong friendships with his fraternity brothers. Dick earned a degree in journalism from the University and was a fan of Gopher sports, particularly women's basketball. Dick spent the majority of his career at Honeywell, where he managed complex contract negotiations. His Honeywell friends remained an important part of his life. He was also a long-term member of the Orono Lions Club. After his retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He also enjoyed driving trips all over the country and yearly adventures with friends from high school. Dick volunteered as a driver for Interfaith Outreach and as a reading coach at Schumann Elementary School. He was active in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka, where he taught kindergarten religious education, performed in the Christmas plays, acted as an usher and served on church committees. Memorial service Saturday, March 21, 11:00 a.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka (UUCM), 605 Rice Street, Wayzata, Minnesota.
