Scholtec, Bette J. 90, longtime resident of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24 at Lake Minnetonka Shores, Spring Park, MN. Welcoming her to Heaven are her parents, Clara & Rudy Krummel; loving husband, Dale; granddaughter, Lindsay Wright and son-in-law, Gil Wright. Survived by son, Dennis (Barb) Scholtec; daughter, Nancee (Scholtec) Wright; grandsons, Cameron (Dana) Wright, Dan (Cally) Scholtec; granddaughters, Laura (Rob) Schatzle and Allison (Tim) Miller; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Hattie Scholtec. Bette was born in Pine Creek Twsp, MN, June 9, 1924. She eventually moved to Hibbing where she met the love of her life. Married in Madison, WI during WWII after Dale's return, moving to Mpls, then St. Louis Park, where they bought their home of 56 years. Bette was a longtime employee of Maid of Scandinavia in St. Louis Park. She became an exceptional cake decorator, she always made sure that her grandchildren had an amazing birthday cake. Bette was a very creative person enjoying a multitude of crafts, sewing, knitting and painting. She enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new recipes and making candies of all kinds with the grandkids. She enjoyed traveling, visiting relatives and spending time at the cabin on Deer Lake where she took the sport of fishing very seriously. Her name struck fear in the fish world. Grandma was also an avid sports fan for her grandchildren. She never missed any hockey, baseball, softball or basketball games they played. They were both such loving grandparents. A memorial service and interment for Bette is planned for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2:00 PM at Lakewood Cemetery Mausoleum, Mpls, MN.
