Swinsisky, Halyna age 96, of NE Mpls. Passed away on Tuesday 12/23/2014. Preceded in death by parents, Mychajlo and Maria Zalucky; brother, Dmytro Zalucky; sister, Anna Pidhayny; and husband of 58 years, Mychajlo. Survived by daughters, Maria "Marusya" Miller and Christine "Lesya" (Lawrence) Bell; grand-children, Michael (Jennifer) Miller, Catherine Miller (Tom McMasters), Patricia (Camillus) Fennelly, Aundrea (Andrew) Linn and Renee Bell (Justin Cowen); beloved great-grandchildren, Mairead, Skylar and Landon; and cousin Maria Mandy-bur. She is also survived by family in the US, Canada and Ukraine. Throughout her life, Halyna exemp-lified courage and resilience. As a young woman, she worked passionately for the cause of freedom in her native Ukraine. She immigrated to the US in 1949 with her husband and two young daughters and became a leader in the Ukrainian American community. She was a lifelong parishioner of St Constantine Ukrainian Catholic Church, head of the Sisterhood, tireless member of the Pyrozhnytsi ("Pyrohy" ladies) and President of the Ukrainian American Community Center Women's Club. Fiercely independent until her death, she was most proud of her faith and her family. Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 Univer-sity Ave. NE) Friday from 5-8 PM with Vigil Prayers (Panachyda) at 7 PM. Requiem Divine Liturgy at ST.
