Born of Norwegian immigrants on July 29, 1928, in Crookston, Minnesota, our beloved Viking Warrior entered his final battle with a merciless foe called Lewy Body Dementia and peacefully surrendered on Thursday, December 18. Survived by the love of his life, Ann, adored children Linda (Gary) Lee, Allan (Laurie), Barbara (David) Hughes, and Mark (Susan), cherished and deeply loved grandchildren Zachary, Matthew, Bobby, Paige and Julia, beloved granddog Hazel, dearly loved sister (Ruth Drapela), many nephews and nieces and many cherished lifelong friends. Preceded in death by loving parents William and Marie who have welcomed their only son into Heaven with open arms. Heartfelt thanks to the angel caregivers at United Hospital (special thanks to Stacey) and to the angel caregivers at North Ridge Care Center (special thanks to Roseline, Cassie and Heather) for their compassion and expressions of kindness. Services will be Monday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 11115 Hanson Boulevard, Coon Rapids, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church.
