Zurnieden, Colin Edward Age 21, of Elk River, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. Preceded in death by grandfather, Jurgen Zurnieden; and uncle, Josef Zurnieden. Colin was born on December 30, 1992 in Coon Rapids, MN. He graduated from Elk River High School in 2011 and was a 4th year student at MSUM where he was a Communications major. Colin was charming, genuine, creative, caring and he fully embraced those who were lucky enough to know him. His sense of humor and sharp wit will be missed by all (along with the spontaneous dancing and the soundtrack of his life that played through a Bluetooth speaker everywhere he went). He made the most of the time that he was given and to know him was to love him. Survived by parents, Lynn and Patrick (Lawrence) and sister, Dulcie; parents, Jesse & Jennifer Petrowski and sisters, Logan and Raven and brother, Julian; grandparents, Eileen Zurnieden, Robert Lawrence, Jim and Karen McNamara, Richard and Denice Petrowski, Connie Jacobson and Curt (Jake) Jacobson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and countless friends. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, December 27 at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River. Visitation two hours prior to service.
