Kirk Raymond Ostrom

Ostrom, Kirk Raymond Age 59, of Bloomington, passed away on October 17, 2014. He was born on March 21, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN. Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Norma Ostrom and nephew Joseph Bundy. Survived by his daughters, Rikki and Karlene White (Russell); grandchildren, Nasasha, Aaliyah, Collin, Precious, Avery, Amyah and Ayden; sister, Cathy Ostrom Peters (Joe); nephew, Matthew Bundy (Angela) and nieces, Katherine and Elizabeth Peters. Kirk had many special grand nephews, nieces and friends. Kirk graduated from Kennedy High School in 1973. He attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1981. He received his Emergency Medical Technicians license in 1981. Kirk passed his Mn Chemical Dependency Boards as a counselor in 1982. Kirk was also a taxidermist, creating lively action mounts invigorating the art of taxidermy to a new artistic level. Kirk was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Kirk was very proud of accomplishing The North American Grand Slam. Memorials preferred to the Minnesota Fishing Museum and Hall of Fame, 304 West Broadway, Little Falls, MN 56345. A special thank you to the compassionated caregivers at The Lodge in Burnsville who made Kirk's last days so comfortable and peaceful. And, a very special thank you to Sandy Cavanaugh for her commitment to honor her friend's last wishes. Her selfless care and concern for Kirk's well-being inspired us all. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
