Aug. 18, 1922, graduated from Washburn HS, attended the U of MN, and worked many yrs. at NWNL Insurance Co. before retiring. Married in 1946. Above all, she valued her roles as a loving wife, devoted mother, supportive grandmother and great-grandmother (Nana). Beyond that, she was an avid sports fan, esp. Gophers, Twins, and Vikings (charter season ticket holder). She loved to travel and play games (esp. Cribbage, Dominos, and Rummikub). A supportive and loyal friend. She was a long time member of the Girl Scout Alumni Troop 1976, a 71 yr. member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a 75 yr member of the "Bridge Club" (a group of lifelong high school girl friends.) She had a rich and active life to the end, including playing Cribbage with her son, John, up to three days before passing. Her 18 year battle with three different cancers was hard fought - never complaining and handling herself with absolute grace, even in the hardest times- which was an inspiration to both family and friends. Special thanks to Drs Weinshell and Brunkow, Julie Powell (WOC Nurse), and the nurses at Fairview Southdale Hosp. for their supportive care. Visitation is Tues., Sept. 23, 5-7 pm at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel West 50th St. and Vernon Ave. (at Hwy 100).
