Holbrook, Mary Jo Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at St John Neumann Catholic Church in Eagan for Mary Jo Holbrook, age 58, of Eagan, MN. Reverend Donald Wagner will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud. Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Klecatsky & Sons Eagan Chapel in Eagan, MN. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Mary Jo (Schmitz) Holbrook died peacefully on August 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving husband and family members. Mary Jo was born on August 23, 1956, in St Cloud, Minnesota to Cyril and Rose Marie (Hesse) Schmitz. She worked for nearly thirty years at RBC most recently as a supervisor in Retirement Plan Options. On May 21, 1983, she married Phil Holbrook in St Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud and they have made Eagan their home since that time. Mary Jo had a passion for animals of all kinds, especially her dogs, Maggie and Carter. She and her husband were dedicated Viking fans and she enjoyed travelling, being particularly fond of New Orleans. She liked to shop, and was a great listener and conversationalist, often talking on the phone for hours. Everyone who met MJ considered her a friend. Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Phil, mother Rose Marie Schmitz, and brothers and sister: John Schmitz and his wife Mary, David Schmitz and his wife Joyce, Mark Schmitz, Carl Schmitz, Stephen Schmitz and Stephanie (Schmitz) DeVine and her husband Chris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Cyril Schmitz. Mary Jo will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends. For those who were touched by Mary Jo's life, we ask that you honor her memory by sharing a favorite memory and prayer with a friend. Memorials to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
