Joyce Alicia Carpenter

Carpenter, Joyce Alicia age 85 of Anoka, MN passed away on Saturday Aug. 16, 2014 at River Oaks of Anoka with her daughters by her side. Preceded in death by her parents Leslie & Lillian Williams; Gordon Williams; and husband Harry Carpenter. Survived by daughters Debra (Alan) of Coon Rapids, MN and Renee (Robert) Buggert of Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren Chad, Troy Jenny and Amy; and 3 great-grandchildren. Joyce was born on January 12, 1929 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. She graduated Rochester High School in 1947. She lived Kasson, Mora and Jackson, MN. Joyce was joined in marriage to Harry Carpenter on April 5, 1979 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. They moved to their lake home on Mille Lacs Lake after retirement and later moved to Peoria, AZ. Joyce was a homemaker. She was a fantastic cook, but she also really enjoyed going out to eat. She was active in the church. She became legally blind in 1987 but never let it stop her from enjoying life as much as she could. She liked to watch Minnesota sports on TV, listen to WCCO radio and her books on tape. She rarely missed her weekly hair appointment and enjoyed getting her nails done. Memorials preferred to the National Federation of the Blind in MN.
