Michael John Renner

Renner, Michael John age 62, of Minneapolis, died on July 22, 2014 from pancreatic cancer. Michael was born to Alfred and Ruth (Fleming) Renner on July 27, 1951. Known for his ethical, intellectual, and kind-hearted nature, he was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend. Respected for his successful career in medical device development, Michael was a philosopher at heart who loved literature, music, and nature. He received his BA in English from the University of Minnesota and took graduate courses in Bioethics. Michael was known for his skill and love of the game on the tennis, racquetball, and basketball courts, as well as 30 years playing with the Mixers softball team. He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Peet) Renner; twin daughters, Sylvia (Andrew Greene) and Erin (Matthew Cordell); brother, Gerald (Carmen); and grandson, Hart Renner Cordell. A memorial service and reception will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25 at the Lakewood Garden Mausoleum, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN, 55408.
