Honmyhr, John Ward ("Jack") Age 70 of Minneapolis lost his short battle with brain cancer on December 1, 2017. The only child of John Sr. and Betty, Jack was a unique individual whose special personality endeared him to everyone lucky enough to have crossed his path. Jack loved his cars, motorcycles, boats and especially his fast vehicles. His fondness for his toys was only exceeded by his love for Lake Minnetonka, his dogs, and friends. We have lost a man who cared deeply for others and constantly would show this by continuous acts of friendship. If you needed Jack, he was there. Jack graduated from Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota. He was a buyer at FMC for years, and retired to just having fun after working at the post office. Jack's life consisted of daily phone calls or outings with friends, boating, and playing with his many motorcycles and cars. He would take his pups on his boat on Lake Minnetonka to the Big Island and let then run themselves to exhaustion spending hours cajoling them back to the boat. Boozer, his last dog, would howl all the way back to the marina because he didn't want the outing to end. Jack had many sayings including "Where's the party?", and having fun was a large priority for him. He would call multiple friends daily with brief chats on movie stars names, sports or the stock market results. It was our "Jack" call of the day. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and cousin, Thomas, and survived by his cousins James and Robert as well as a multitude of friends. He will be deeply missed for his love of life and the happiness he brought to everyone who new him, quirky and all. A guy with a huge heart. A gathering of family and friends will celebrate his life on January 6th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at George R. Wolff VFW Post #425, 100 Shady Oak Road, Hopkins, MN 55343. Memorials in his honor can be sent to Hospice of the Twin Cities, 2000 Summer Street, NE, Suite 100, Minneapolis, MN 55413 or George R. Wolff VFW Post #425.
