Mulligan, Emmett Joseph (E.J.) of St. Paul, died from complications of Alzheimer's on November 10, 2017, two days after his 83rd birthday. Emmett was a 45 year employee of the MN Department of Transportation. He was very active in AFSCME as a steward and board member. E.J. was a volunteer at Merriam Park Library in St. Paul for 15 years, along with being an election judge for many years. Emmett enjoyed golfing, U of MN sports, playing cribbage, and spending time with his three granddaughters. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie; sons, Brian of St. Paul, Todd (Loyal) of Minneapolis, Randall (Christine); granddaughters Meghan, Madison, and Myah, all of Woodbury; siblings Helen (Curtis) Olesen of Northfield, Patrick (Catherine) of Boulder, CO; Donald (Linda) of Minneapolis, along with many relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 21,2 017 with visitation starting one hour prior at Church of St. Mark, 2001 Dayton Ave, St. Paul. Luncheon after service. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Merriam Park Library or Union Gospel Mission.
