Wray, Elaine McCormick age 89 of St Paul died peacefully on July 15, 2017. Elaine was born on September 16, 1927 in Hutchinson, MN to Joseph and Mary McCormick. Elaine graduated in 1949 from the College of Saint Teresa, Winona and received a Master's degree from Bank Street School of Education in New York City. She enjoyed her years as a Catholic grade school principal in Austin, MN and Winona, MN. After leaving the religious order, The Sisters of St. Francis, Elaine married the love of her life, Francis Wray. As a recipient of a Bush Fellowship, Elaine further developed The Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program and the Working Family Resource Center. Elaine and Francis enjoyed travel, books, cultural activities and made all those who they interacted with feel loved and cared for. She is preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents, siblings (Mary Catherine Leith, Edward McCormick and Dick McCormick). She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Jerry & Katie McCormick, John & Helen McCormick, Beth Schmit, Allie Otto, Anne & Peter Gamber, Emmet & Marge McCormick, Greg & Sandy McCormick and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral mass to celebrate Frank and Elaine's life will be on Thursday, July 20th at 11 am at St Cecilia's Catholic Church, St Paul with a 10 am visitation at the church. Private family interment at St. Anastasia Cemetery, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Sisters of St Francis (Rochester), Common Hope, or donor's choice.
