Carolyn (Cox) Walter

Walter, Carolyn "Carol" Carolyn "Carol" C. Walter, age 88 of Friendship Village in Bloomington, MN, passed away on Mother's Day, May 14, 2017. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam H. and Marion Cox; and husband, Frank S. Walter. Survived by sons, F. Douglas (Julia), Steven, and daughter, Nancy (Dean) Ritzman; grandchildren, Benjamin (Marco), Laura, Elizabeth (Joe), Michael, Christopher, Jacob (Rachel) and Case. Growing up in Portland, OR, Carol met her husband Frank at the University of Oregon where she was following her passion for music. They moved to Chicago to finished their education and then moved to Philadelphia, PA where all three children were born. They moved to Edina, MN in 1963 where she raised her children and Carol became active in supporting her husband's career, her volunteer efforts at the MN Institute of Art, St Barnabas Hospital and more. She was an incredibly social, capable, and strong woman who even in the last years of her life was active in many committees and social activities with friends at Friendship Village. Her children will miss her love, guidance and spiritedness. At Carol's request, there will be a Private Family Interment at Lakewood Cemetery in June.
