Wold, Norman Went home to meet his Savior at Johanna Shores Nursing Home in Arden Hills, MN on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017. He grew up in Boyd, MN and was one of 9 children. He was born on May 26, 1923 to Helma and Christ Wold. In 1946, while serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Helena in Boston, MA, he met and married his wife, Elaine Francis Burke. They spent the next 30 years living in Clarkfield, MN where Norman had a plastering/stucco business, and together they raised three daughters. While living in Clarkfield, Norman served on the school board and was a trustee on the church board at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. He also participated in a local curling club. After retiring, the Wolds spent several winters in Mesa, AZ. In 1981, the Wolds moved to their lake home on Lake Minnewaska, in Glenwood, MN. where they lived for the next 20 years. Norman enjoyed fishing and teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He also enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife near the lake. His grandchildren loved visiting Grandma and Grandpa at the lake. In 2001, they built a house in Alexandria, MN where they lived for the next 10 years. Norman enjoyed woodcarving, gardening and building furniture until he lost his eye sight due to macular degeneration. He was an excellent caretaker for Elaine when she became disabled. After suffering a heart attack in 2014, Norman moved into Epiphany Assisted Living in Coon Rapids, MN. Norman is survived by his three daughters, Catherine (Thomas) Angus of Coon Rapids, Pam Engebretson (Tom Brudvig) of Maplewood, Christine (Daryl) Werneke of Eagan; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
