Thompson, Jeanette D. "Jan" (Luvaas) passed away peacefully on 12/29/16 at age 94. Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was the daughter of Lutheran Minister, Peder J. Luvaas and Agnes Mevig. Preceded in death by husband, Robert "Bob" Thompson; her parents and siblings, Alice, Lois, John, Paul, Helen, Harold and Peter. Survived by her daughter, Leslie (James) Millette; grandchildren, Annika and Brede; sister, Lee Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. Jan grew up in Eugene, OR and graduated from the Univ. of Oregon in 1945. After taking a trip to MN to visit her sister Helen, she met her husband Bob at Central Lutheran Church when he offered to give her a ride home. The two were married by her father in October of 1953 at her sister Lois' home in Portland, OR. Jan worked for BBDO in Mpls, but resigned after the birth of her daughter and became a full time Mom. She went back to work years later and worked for MN Nurses Association and the Lutheran Camp Board. She was a generous, kind, loving and compassionate person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and always put the needs of others above her own. She will be sorely missed.
