Korb, Bart Walter 72, of Hilton Head Island, SC succumbed to complications from lung cancer at home surrounded by his family on December 5, 2016. Bart is survived by his wife Patricia of 47 years. He is also survived by his son Kevin (Shannon) Korb; grandchildren Carter and MacKenzie of St. Paul, MN; daughter Kathleen (Nick) Praznowski, grandchildren Henry, Grace and Mary of Chicago, IL; brother Ralph (Mary Lou) Korb of Highland Park, IL and a loving extended family. Bart was born on March 30,1944 in Highwood, IL to Carl and Margaret (Mahoney) Korb. A graduate of St. James School in Highwood, Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL and the University of Minnesota, Bart spent more than 30 years in sales management at the Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company while raising his family in Burnsville, MN. Bart enjoyed reading history, cooking, discussing politics and studying the stock market. An avid golfer, he spent his retirement years in the Palmetto State playing at least weekly. He was also a curious traveler who made efforts to explore new places domestically and abroad. He was truly happiest in the company of family and friends enjoying a lively conversation. A special thank you to the Hospice Care of the Lowcountry and Emerson Family Care for their loving care and support. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 10th at noon at St. Francis by the Sea Roman Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island.
