Hanson, Mac age 89, passed away Wed. Sept. 28, 2016 at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington. Preceded in death by his son, Phillip. Survived by wife of 60 years, Nona; son, Mike (Rosemary); daughter-in-law, Sheila; grandson, Ryan; and loving family and friends. Mac was born Aug. 20, 1927 in Ashville, NC. His mother, Jene Hanson surrendered him to Eliada Home for Children when he was just 2 years old. He worked the farm at Eliada until he left on his 17th birthday with $10 in his pocket. Mac spent two years in the Army where he learned accounting which led to his lifetime employment with the US Postal Service in the Postal Data Center. He retired in 1990 after 42 years. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Valley View Coop in Eden Prairie until his death. Memorial service 2 PM Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Cedar Valley Church, 8600 Bloomington Ave. S, with a visitation one hour prior. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
