Gaard, Dorothy M. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, & Great Grandmother On Wednesday, September 21, 2016 Dorothy Marie Conrad Gaard threw off the chains of mortal flesh and joyfully claimed her place, amidst countless friends and family, in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Dorothy was the devoted wife of Arthur who last spring preceded her in death in the midst of their 65th year of marriage. Dorothy was many things to many people, including a Special Ed teacher, a music teacher, a school librarian, a piano instructor, a church organist, and a pastor's wife. She was preceded in death by parents Theodore and Alice Conrad and sister Sharon Johnson. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and loving mother to five children, Barbara (David) Koziol, Bruce (Laurel) Gaard, James (Robyn) Gaard, Carol (Peter) Voigt, and Audrey (Vint) Johnson. She was the proud grandmother of Patrick (Caroline) Koziol, Katie (Trevor) Tiburzi, Kristin and Michael Koziol; Dan (Kat) Gaard, Rachel (Brandon) Miller and Andrew Gaard; Ashley, Ben, Luke and Peter Gaard; Naomi (Peter) Eckert, Paul, Jonathan, Sarah, and Solomon Voigt; and Eric and Karl Johnson and great grandmother of Penn Tiburzi and Ellie Eckert. She is also survived by brothers Donald (Janice), Norman (Donna Mae), Paul and Tom Conrad. Dorothy loved classical music, public radio, and the St Paul Chamber Orchestra. She was a gracious hostess, a brilliant baker, and possessed a quiet sense of humor. Towards the end of her time on earth, Dorothy valiantly battled multiple illnesses and losses until she moved peacefully into death, surrounded by family. Dorothy Gaard, child of God, full of beauty and grace, rest and rejoice in Peace. You are lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Funeral service at Mt.
