Olson, Colleen M. Age 63, of Shakopee, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer on August 20, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Eleanor Brown and numerous beloved pets. Colleen is survived by her husband Jay, her pets Onyx and TC, and numerous nieces and cousins. Colleen was born in Minneapolis and was a graduate of South High School and Augsburg College where she studied the Theater Arts. She and Jay were married in 1986. Jay became the rock in her life. She later found her life's work as a successful Human Resources administrator. As an Officer at Lifecore Biomedical, she was critical to building a flourishing employee cultural spirit. She showed us all what is important with her love of friends and animals. Her favorite quote was: "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened". Colleen will be dearly missed by Jay, her many friends, and her furry buddies, but her laugh and compassion will remain with us always. Visitation will be at 10AM, followed by the funeral service at 11AM, Thursday September 22, at the MN Masonic Home, 11501 Masonic Home Dr., Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the animal shelter of choice.
